    Structure and Principle
    Basic Structure

This three-phase load switch/combination unit consists of a frame, solid-insulated poles, a spring operating mechanism, isolation/earthing blades, sensors, and transmission parts. The isolating blades and vacuum interrupters are mounted on the frame. The earthing blades are at the bottom, and the operating mechanism (manual/electrical) is on the left side.

    Working Principle

Vacuum Switch: Uses a spring mechanism for closing and a solenoid/manual knob for opening. AC/DC power is supported. Status is visible through a window.
Isolation/Earthing Blades: Mechanically interlocked; vacuum switch must be open first. Operated via handle with clear status indication.
Fuse Trip: Uses striker-type fuses. Any phase fuse operation triggers a mechanical release to open the vacuum interrupter reliably (1–3J trip energy).

    Frequently Asked Questions
What is the rated voltage of the FZ-R-N21C-40.5D vacuum load switch?
The rated voltage of this vacuum load switch is 40.5 kV, making it suitable for medium-voltage indoor power distribution applications.
What does the "R" suffix in the product model name indicate?
"R" in the model designation indicates that the unit is equipped with a fuse base, forming a combination apparatus (load switch + fuse) for enhanced short-circuit protection.
What are the altitude and temperature limitations for normal service conditions?
The switch is rated for altitudes not exceeding 4,000 meters, with an ambient temperature range of -40°C to +65°C. For installations at higher altitudes, electrical parameters such as withstand voltage are adjusted accordingly.
How does the fuse trip mechanism work in the combination apparatus?
The combination unit uses striker-type fuses. When any phase fuse operates, its striker triggers a mechanical release that reliably opens the vacuum interrupter. The required trip energy is between 1 and 3 joules.
What is the mechanical life expectancy of the load switch and earthing switch?
The load switch is rated for 10,000 mechanical operations, while the disconnector and earthing switch are each rated for 2,000 operations under standard service conditions.
Is this vacuum load switch suitable for high-altitude installations?
Yes, a high-altitude version is available. For high-altitude installations, the phase-to-phase center distance increases to 500 ± 3 mm (standard is 440 ± 3 mm), and withstand voltage parameters are adjusted to meet relevant standards. Please consult the manufacturer for specific requirements.
