The CJ19 series switching capacitor contactor operates in AC 50Hz or 60Hz circuits up to 380V. This device features a specialized inrush current suppressing device to reduce closing surges and suppress over-voltage during breaking. A double-deck contact system with upper limiting contacts and resistors ensures safe capacitor pre-charging. Ideal for low-voltage reactive power compensation equipment, it protects parallel capacitors from high impact currents. The unit supports screw or DIN rail installation. Features

The contactor is direct-action type with double-break contact construction. Its system is divided into two layers: upper and lower. In the upper layer, there is an inrush current suppression device composed of three pairs of precharge contacts and a closing resistor. When the switch is closed, the device is first engaged, then after several milliseconds, the working contacts are engaged. The permanent magnetic latch of the precharge contacts is released by spring reaction, and the closing resistor is bypassed, so the capacitor operates normally. Contactors of 12, 18, 20kvar have two pairs of auxiliary contacts, and contactors of 30kvar have three pairs of auxiliary contacts.
Terminals of the contactors are protected by insulation covers, making them safe and reliable to use. Voltage data is marked at the terminals to avoid wrong connections. 12, 18, 20kvar contactors can be mounted not only by screws but also by clipping the bottom sliders onto 35mm standard tracks. On the front screen, there is a rectangular white plate which can be torn off. Users can print the item code on this plate.

Short-circuit protection: The rated voltage of the fuse in the main circuit shall be higher than the voltage of the capacitor it protects. For 400V capacitors, RT19-type cylindrical fuses can be selected. The rated current of the fuse shall be determined in accordance with the corresponding formula.
